BIF days 2015:
Presence. Confidence. Closeness.
Improvisation is multifaceted and able to include a lot of different aspects of human interaction and expression. Everyone has their unique way of doing it, thinking about it, looking at it. The BIF programme 2014 pays tribute to this diversity and individuality by having our instructors teach what they believe is important - we asked them to bring in their favorite topics and workshops. Which means that this year, the workshop content in BIF days and BIF week won't be the same. The programme as a whole offers a well-rounded mix of physical, emotional and analytic approaches to improvisation, creating more options and focal points to choose from.
At BIF days, you can choose one of the three offered workshops, at BIF week you don’t have to decide - here, all three workshops are included in the program. BIF week has a length of seven and BIF days a length of four days, both happen during IMPRO 2015 which runs March 13th to 22nd.
The BIF program offers improvisers from all over the world the opportunity to collect impressions, impulses and make new contacts at one of the biggest festivals of this kind. In mixing workshops, shows, a panel and an Open Space, BIF reaches even more improvisers that gather in Berlin to network, improve their skills and last but not least have loads of fun!

Workshop: Closeness

Romantic love, sex and intimacy in relationships. How do we give our audience the gift of a truly romantic love scene/story? How do we electrify them with our performers sexual energy without being explicit? How do we break their hearts like Shakespeare did in Romeo and Juliet?
Performing love scenes is a skill like any other that can be learned, it just takes trust, bravery, honesty, a willingness to be vulnerable and to take risks that perhaps you have never taken before.
The workshop will be held in English.
Rama has been a member of Impro Melbourne’s Ensemble cast for over 13 years. As a performer Rama’s strengths lay in her ability to play a vast range of characters and her ability to transform and immerse herself in her characters world, inspiring both workshop participants and audience. In the past years she has been touring through Europe as teacher and performer.
- Basic skills in improvisation are necessary, preferably a minimum of two years of improv experience.

What makes a body (which could be an actor, for instance) suddenly seem present? What is the foundation for this magic and mysterious impression, that audiences and actors can truly be feeling a moment of shared present? Let us explore hidden ways between imagination and memory of our bodies.
The workshop will be held in English.
Whether as an actor, author or director, Matthieu is fascinated by the act of creation in all its ways. He has improvised in different improv groups since 1996 until he founded the“Compagnie Combats Absurdes" in 2004, in order to realise his own projects. Matthieu is presently leading an artistic and scientific research on presence. Of course, his favorite themes (Patience and Corporeality) influence his teaching style.

Workshop: Confidence
Standing alone on stage with nothing but yourself, your thoughts and impressions. In this workshop we will discover the sources that let us trust ourselves to play calm, fun scenes and intense moments. We'll learn how to trust our impulse, our partner and the story itself.
The Workshop will be held in German with a translation in English.
Billa Christe studied acting in Berlin and is co-founder of the Berlin improv ensemble Die Gorillas. Since then she has been playing at several big theatres in Berlin and works as an MC for events. Besides her work as an improv teacher for various German improv groups, she has started to develop and direct skripted plays for a theatre in Leipzig.

Please note that only the tickets for three evening shows of IMPRO 2015 from March 19th-21st (as listed in programme schedule) are included. Tickets for the other shows of IMPRO 2015 have to be purchased additionally. It is not possible to change show dates to other dates.
All Workshops will take place at „JugendKulturZentrum PUMPE, Lützowstr. 42, 10785 Berlin-Mitte“.
The Open Space is the possibility for you to work on a special topic, spend your free time together or just to have a chat about an improv topic that fascinates you. Limit of 12 participants for each workshop. There is the possibility to have lunch at the workshop location on Friday, Saturday and Sunday for the additional cost of 20,- Euro.
Conditions for participation in the BIF days
Reservation of workshop in order of registration plus receipt of payment
Transfer of 50% of the workshop fee until Dec. 31st of 2014 (first come, first served!), second 50% until February 15th of 2015.

More than 6 weeks before workshops: full refund.
More than 4 weeks before workshops: 75% refund.
4-3 weeks before workshops: 50% refund.
3-2 weeks before workshops: 30% refund.
2-1 week(s) before workshops: 10% refund.
Less than 7 days before workshop: no refund.
Participation in the workshops on your own risk, there is no insurance protection by Gorillas.
